“The MAXXI connects with the urban circumstance within which it’s set by revitalizing the horizontal construction of the past military barracks. The geometrical design of the plan aligns itself with the two urban grids that organize the urban planning construction of the arena and the recent interpretation of these two geometrical designs inside the proposal yields the amazing geometrical complexity of the campus. The 2 urban grids are interceded by curving lines that harmonise the design and facilitate the run inside the site.
“The important concept of the design is instantly connected to the intention of the construction as a center for the expo of ocular arts. The walls that cross the space, and their crossroads, defines inside and outside spaces of the MAXXI. This system represents every three levels of the construction, the second of which is the more difficult – with a riches of links with different bridges that relate constructions and galleries. The visitor is asked to enter into a series of constant spaces, besides the compress volume of an segregated construction.”
“The interior spaces, delimited by the expo walls, are wrapped by a glass roof that deluge the galleries with normal light permeated by the louvered lines of the roofing shines.
