The patients of the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry of the ‘Evangelisches Konigin Elisabeth Krankenhaus’ Hospital (KEH) in Berlin will never find alone once more. In improver to doctors and nurses the children are, since October 2009, hosted by Princess Elise. She is the admirer of the history told to the kids while they come at the institution: when she was girl, Princess Elise created her personal island, with favorable sand, palm trees, stones that kiss the rolls and protections wherever she could breathe when she wanted to. Here she was all of the time secure. Now as a mature madam, Elise does no more extended want to live on the island and consequently committed it to her young patients in the hospital.
The legend was invented and changed to fact by the German originative office Pearlman, who operated intimately with the hospital’s psychiatrists and doctors to acquire a holistic access to a fresh communication and spatial construct. The ‘Isle of Elise’ design is supported a construct wherever project and architecture act a primal character, thus forming a totally fresh access to kid and adolescent psychiatry.
For each one room in the hospital was projected in conditions of pattern, color, stuffs, light and air, with the aim of advertising a positive air of protection and shelter, authorizing children’s imagination and positive emotions. The obligations of healthful professionals and the emotional needs of young patients are now well-balanced.
