“Site of the Museum consists of Memorial NS11 footprints of the twin towers and the space between them, and the echo of the limits on the Memorial Plaza,” read a statement the design architect. “Extending down almost seventy yards from the square, this museum is based on what is popularly called the ‘bedrock’. It is here in the middle of the basics of the original WTC complex, that the physical remains and structural framework of the two tower can still be seen.
“The limits of classes under the Museum is also defined by the neighboring projects on the site, including the PATH terminal and the Freedom Tower. But the most important of the museum is a limit to the west, a stretch of sixty-foot height of the original pulp wall, and the is part of the original WTC excavation large sustained lateral pressure from surrounding areas after the fall. ”
Community asked to contribute to museum collections through the “Make History” online initiative call for photos and stories related to 9 / 11 can contribute through the newly launched, dynamic sites.
