
Imagine for pleasure especially to target younger and impressionable, children of school age, here is the new mascot for London 2012: called Wenlock and Mandeville, the English names of two places significant in the history of the Olympic Games.
The legend that accompanies them to be forged by two drops of molten metal, the same used to build the new Olympic Stadium but rounded aerodynamic, one eye from cartoons and Olympic rings worn as bracelets, the two seem to aliens Pixar style, a little ‘Teletubbies, a little’ monsters from Japanese manga.
Their choice is imposed, according to organizers, other proposals related to the English tradition as pigeons anthropomorphic animated teapots and even Big Ben with legs and arms
